Validating the Emotion Without Condoning the Behavior

Dealing with concerning behaviors can be difficult for parents of children with disabilities. Many parents struggle knowing how to truly validate or connect with their child during a crisis without first resorting to some kind of negative consequence or punishment.

Join us to learn life-changing parenting techniques that will show you how you can emotionally connect with your child all while teaching them appropriate behaviors.

PTA Shoutout!

PTA Shoutout!

We wanted to recognize PTA Member Courtney Ward. For several years Courtney has organized the teacher dinners during our SEP Conferences. SEP Conferences make for a late night at school for teachers, so knowing they have a delicious dinner waiting for them is awesome!

Courtney organizes help from Apple Valley parents who donate food, cook, decorate, and clean up for about 35 teachers and staff. And every SEP Dinner is absolutely delicious.

We are so thankful to Courtney and the parent crew who help feed us during SEP Nights!!

Safe School Assembly

Today at Apple Valley we had our safe school assembly where the students were able to compete in a jeopardy style game about following school rules and how to keep our school safe. We were so impressed with how well the students did!

Mrs Smith's third grade class was able to do a STEM activity with Mrs Liddle before Christmas working with robots. They had so much fun programming the robots and showing Mr Argyle how the robots worked.
