This weeks Spotlight is brought to you by Karli Gold and Miley Miller on the Studen Council. They chose to spotlight Ms. Grundberg, and here is what they found out!

Position: 2nd Grade Teacher

Favorite thing about Apple Valley: The students and the teachers

Favorite thing to teach: Science, because you get to do awesome experiments!

Favorite hobby: Crocheting

Favorite food: Butternut squash

Favorite Treat: Ice Cream

Author Lance Conrad visits 6th grade

Author Lance Conrad visits 6th grade

The 6th graders had the opportunity to hear from an Utah author. Lance Conrad said, "His passion for writing come from the belief that ther are great lessons to be learned as we struggle with our favorite characters in fiction." Lance talked to the students about how descriptive writing, editing, and revision are important when writing. He also said, "writers write about their own experiences. If you feel you have nothing to write about, go explore the world." It took Lance 8 years to write his very first book, The Prince of Creation.

Our Student Council Officer, Madilyn Haymore, chose to spotlight our very favorite Ms. Taylor! Here is what Madily found out about her:

Favorite thing about Apple Valley: Working with such great people and students

Favorite hobby: Riding motorcycles with her husband

Favorite food: Sushi

Favorite treat: Cookies and ice cream

Other hobbies include: Spending time with my little boys, Ace and Waylon. Learning new things and spending time with friends!

Teacher Spotlight of the Week

This week our student council officers, Sloan Andreason and Max Stilson, chose to highlight Ms. Brandley! Here is what they found out about her!

The person we are going to be spotlighting is Mrs. Brandley.

Her position is a 1st grade teacher.

Her favorite thing about Apply Valley is all of the kids and the teachers that are at this school.

Her favorite thing to teach is reading and writing.

Her favorite hobby is to sew when she has free time.

Perfect Attendance Party!

Perfect Attendance Party!

Last Friday, November 8th, we had a donut party for all the kiddos with perfect attendance! This means that they had 0 Tardies and 0 Excused Absences for all of 1st Term!! This is a new tradition we will be celebrating at the end of each term. We are so proud of these kiddos (and parents) for all their work and effort to being here at school each day and on time! Let's congratulate these amazing students!

School Outreach Initiative

Dear Parents,

I’m writing to let you know about a unique opportunity you have to weigh in on the future of our community, while also earning funds for our school.

This fall, Envision Utah is helping Utah Valley residents and stakeholders create a vision for the future as we add nearly 1 million people to our population over the next 50 years. This effort – called Valley Visioning – has culminated into the Valley Visioning survey, linked below.

This week the Student Council interviewed Ms. Mortensen! Here is what they found out about her:

She is an Enrichment teacher.

She loves to teach Math.

Her favorite thing to do is playing softball. (She might be the world's biggest Yankee's fan!!)

She likes to eat Shrimp and Stake.

Her favorite treat is popcorn.

When she is not working she likes to spend time with her family. When she is with her family she likes to go boating, skiing, and go on jeep rides.

Ms. Greer's 6th grade student, Olivia Persons was able to list the prime factors of numbers 1-100 in less than 5 minutes!! Way to go, Olivia! This is so awesome! Leave her a comment below to show support!
