This week's faculty spotlight was chosen by two of our student council members, Maddison M and Lucy Y. They chose to spotlight Mrs. Tucker and this is what they learned about her:

Favorite thing to teach: She loves to teach 1st graders how to read

Favorite hobby: Listening to audiobooks or reading

Favorite food: pizza

4th Grade Rap Battle

Our fourth graders have been using Rap to learn math facts. They memorized a math rap, created choreography, and then performed yesterday in a rap battle between the classes. Every class has worked hard and did such a good job. Mrs Staples class won the battle!

Faculty Spotlight with Student Council

Two of our student council members, Lincoln D and Ava L, chose to spotlight Mr. Argyle. This is what they learned about him: 

Name: Mr Argyle

Position: head learner (Principal)

Favorite thing about Apple Valley: Ava and Lincoln and all of the sudents

Favorite thing to teach: Students

Favorite food: anything his wife cooks

Favorite treat: chocolate

Other questions they wanted to know: his favorite sport is soccer. Mr Argyle told them all about the certificates he has hung in his office.

Free assistance for parents of special needs students

Heidi Whittaker works for the Utah Parent Center as a Parent Consultant and is contracted specifically with Nebo School District to provide free assistance/resources to parents who have children with special needs in Nebo School District.  She also helps parents who suspect their child may have special needs.  Heidi's role in Nebo is to help facilitate communication and assist parents in understanding options and resources, which may include the IEP/504 process and Special Education Law.  Please refer to the flyer for her information.
