Apple Valley will be doing a mass (tier 1) vision screening for grades K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th on September 14th. If your student wears glasses or contacts please help your student(s) remember to bring them to school for the screening. Per Utah Law (UCA 53G-9-404) vision screening is provided yearly for all students in grades pre-K, K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 10th. If a student does not pass the screening, a referral letter will be emailed or mailed home. Nebo School District provides a basic distance (tier 1) vision screening for at least grades PK, K, 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10.
Last week our second graders held their own Olympics. The event started off making tie dye shirts and with a lesson from Mr Argyle about setting goals. The focus of their Olympics was on working together as a team and learning how to support and cheer each other on. We are so proud of our 2nd graders!

This Tuesday, Aug 30th, Chubby's is hosting an ALL DAY Spirit Night for Apple Valley. Come eat delicious food and shakes while supporting Apple Valley. A percentage of all sales on Tuesday will go directly to our school. Thank you for supporting Apple Valley!
Last week our second graders learned about giving thanks. Each class chose someone in the school to thank with a big thank you letter from the class. Ms. Grundberg's class left a great note for our custodian on his office door. Mrs. Jeffery's class delivered their thank you letter to Mr. Argyle. We are thankful for our great second grade teachers and students!
The district is using a new website for lunch and breakfast menus. At this time, monthly calendars cannot be printed so please use the link to access the menu. You can also access the menu anytime from the nebo website, under departments and child nutrition.

You can download the iCampus Parent Portal on your phone as an app. Here is a link to do that https://www.nebo.edu/news/3214
