We had SO much fun yesterday with our chess club tournament! We had almost 150 students this year sign up to play. They all learned so much about chess and sportsmanship. We are proud of everyone!

Graduation Pictures Wednesday

This Wednesday, March 30, Lifetouch will be at Apple Valley for Grad Pics. These pictures are for students in fifth grade and Kindergarten. Lifetouch will bring caps and gowns for students to wear over their clothes for the picture.

Apple Valley's Chess Club season is coming to an end. Our last club event will be a tournament next Tuesday, March 29, in our school gym.

Participants will not come to school for 8:00 a.m. Chess Club on Tuesday. Instead, they will come to school at the regular 9:00 a.m. and go to their classrooms. Students will be called down to the gym throughout the day to compete in their matches.

Mrs. Tucker's class has been learning all about measuring! They made giant feet and measured from her class to the front office. It was 99 "BIG" feet to get here!

On St. Patrick's Day, Mrs. Wimmer's class had a fun day of trap making! They worked so hard trying to catch those sneaky leprechauns! 

"We have been creating a list of ideas and supplies needed as a class all week (practicing our spelling skills). It all came together as they created leprechaun traps. We practiced social skills as well as strengthened our hand muscles as we participated in this fun STEM activity."

Our cute 2nd graders had a fun read-a-thon/pajama party a couple weeks ago. These are the best parties!

3rd grade teachers are having an open house setting and you will not have to set up a time to meet with them. Mrs. Pruett is still out on maternity leave and will not be holding SEP's this term. Also, Ms. Jeffery is holding them on two night's so be aware of which day you are signing up for.
