Yesterday, Mrs. Blackhurst's class had a fun reading activity! Students came in from lunch recess to see their class room had been transformed into a quaint cafe with soft music playing and fancy table clothes and placemats.
Students where invited to 'taste' some of the books on their tables and after 5ish minutes of reading (tasting) the book they wrote on their menu what they thought about that book and then discussed it with their class. At the end of the activity, students had a better idea of what kind of books they were interested in reading. After their sophicated taste test, the student got to endulge in cookies and punch!
I loved this idea that Mrs. Blackhurst planned out for her class! What a fun idea to read different types of books!
