We wanted to remind all 6th grade students and parents that we are now accepting drawings for Apple Valley's first ever yearbook cover! 

All 6th grade students are invited to participate. If interested, please submit an original drawing on unlined paper. Please include Apple Valley Elementary's name and 2018-2019 on the front and have student put their name along with their teachers name on the back. Entries can be turned in at the front office until March 29th. 

We are so excited to let you guys know about our SPRING CARNIVAL!!

Mark your calendars for April 26th at 5-8 pm

Cost will be $10/ family (no matter the size) or just $2/ person 

There will be carnival games, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, chalk the block, and a dunking booth! 

There will also be food trucks here to purchase food and drinks! Waffle Love, ButterBeer, Main Street Pizza, and Mouse Trap to name a few! 

There will be more information as the date approaches, so stay on the look out!

We are so excited to celebrate Dr. Suess week! We will kick off the celebration on Monday, March 4th with hat day. Flyers will be going home this week with students, as well as posting on here. We can't wait to see everyone dressing up next week!

Our awesome 3rd graders had a fun field trip to the Scera Theater and Classic Fun Center. The play was Tortoise and the Hare, which the kids loved! Next, they got to test out their skills on the skating rink. I hear they've got some sweet moves! :) It looks like they all enjoyed their day out and had a great time.

Kindergarten Registration is Moving to Summer!

Kindergarten registration, traditionally held in March, will be moved to the summer and combined with grades 1st -12th. More detailed information regarding summer registration for K-6th will be sent out to you before the end of the school year.

Parents can prepare now for registering their kindergarten children by making sure they have a birth certificate and that their child is current on the following immunizations: DTap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Varicella and MMR by the end of July.  

Kindergartners recently learned a little bit about science.  They learned that science is the study of many things.  Each kindergartner had the opportunity to learn about a topic in science that they are interested in.  Then they were able to present what they learned to their class.  It was so fun to see their different interests and presentations.  Some learned about plants, animals, the solar system, volcanoes, tornadoes, rocks, bones, and many other things.  

Liz Mitchell had a special surprise for Ms. Garcia's Kindergarten class today! She made them each a pillow case for Valentines day! Aren't they the cutest!! Thank you Mrs. Mitchell, I know these darling kindergarteners will have sweet dreams tonight!

Discovery Gateway Childrens Museum came down to our school to do a presentation for our kindergarteners. They taught them about motion and had fun activities them to do! They did tug-o-war, sphere races and tried hover boards. The students all had a blast!

Today is our kindergarteners 100th day of school! Ms. Garcia's class went on a hunt for Zero the Hero and all the clues led him to our office where the treasure was hidden! We sure love our cute kindergarteners!
